The refreshed design features clean matte finishes available in black, white, graphite, and brushed stainless steel — a welcome departure from the utilitarian look of earlier Bonavita models. Under the new exterior, the fundamentals remain solid: variable temperature control from 140 to 212 degrees Fahrenheit, a hold mode that maintains your target temperature for up to 60 minutes, and a 1.0L capacity that gives you enough water for two full pour-over brews.

At roughly $100, the Interurban occupies a sweet spot in the gooseneck kettle market. It delivers the core features that pour-over brewers actually need — precise temperature setting and a gooseneck spout — without the premium price tag of a Fellow Stagg EKG. The gooseneck flow control is good, if not quite as refined as the Stagg’s precision spout, and the base controls are functional without feeling luxurious. For most home brewers making one or two pour-overs a day, the practical differences from a $200 kettle are slim.

The Interurban’s biggest advantage over the Fellow Stagg EKG is its 1.0L capacity, which provides a meaningful extra 100ml of water. This may sound minor, but it is the difference between comfortably brewing a 500ml batch with preheating water to spare and needing to refill mid-session.
